Prevention and oral hygiene – the key to a healthy smile
In our dental office, we take care of our patients’ smiles every day. We carry out dental check-ups and examinations, as well as dental hygiene, and provide advice on daily hygiene. Following the basic rules is the path to a healthy, snow-white smile.
Regular visits
A dental checkup should be performed at least once every six months. Regular visits to the dentist will enable the diagnosis of problems at an early stage of their development. This will make the treatment less invasive.
Hygienization treatments: descaling, sandblasting, fluoridation
Tartar is formed as a result of the mineralization of dental plaque and cannot be removed by daily oral hygiene. Removing tartar in the dentist’s office, i.e. scaling, is an important element of prevention that helps prevent periodontal disease and caries. Sandblasting is another hygiene procedure. It involves removing plaque and discoloration from the surface, gently brightening the teeth and restoring their aesthetics. Teeth fluoridation is a treatment aimed at strengthening the enamel and preventing caries. The treatment involves applying a special preparation containing a high fluorine content to the teeth, which penetrates the structure of the enamel and strengthens it. It is recommended to perform tooth fluoridation regularly, at least once a year, in order to maintain healthy and strong enamel. By taking care of preventive care and oral hygiene, you are guaranteed a healthy and beautiful smile throughout your life.
Daily oral hygiene
Each of us should take care of oral hygiene every day. What should you remember in particular?
- Brushing your teeth – Teeth should be brushed at least twice a day, using a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Brushing your teeth should last at least two minutes, and the brush movements should be performed with gentle pressure so as not to damage the enamel or gums.
- Dental floss – You should use dental floss at least once a day to remove food remains and bacteria from the hard-to-reach spaces between your teeth. Regular flossing prevents the formation of tartar and periodontal disease.
- Mouth rinse – It is also important to use mouthwash. Fluids help remove bacteria and food remains and also have antibacterial properties. It is best to choose non-alcoholic fluids to avoid irritation of the oral mucosa.
